Easton's Blog #003: Old, old lyrics

Hello hello everyone! Been a few days since Nick and I had posted something for you kids. I was just listening to some really old demos, and by old I mean 2004-2006. Here's some lyrics to the outro of a song called "Declaratives," which was originally going to be the first track on Fireworks.

...a toast and i try to talk
of life like a puzzle box
we will ache to have the pieces back
back in their cardboard box
safer than table tops
dislocate from all the other cuts

and that is my state of mind
to stay alive all the time
to never start, all in my cardboard box
so don't sit around and wait,
to catch me in quadra-shape
with some luck, you'll only almost win

missing a piece or two
surely you'll come unglued
so i'll tuck her in my cardboard box
and maybe i won't get high
and maybe time won't fly by...

Nick and I have threatened for quite some time to rock a B-Sides album; we have so many darn demos but it's just so hard to go back and work on "old" stuff, no matter how much we like it. Nonetheless, I'd put my money on you all hearing some legit versions of some older songs sometime in the near future. In the meantime, we have been working as best as we can on tabs for all our songs. So far, "Ashes Ashes", "The Civil War", "Mistakes!", "Across the Water", and "The Psychologist" have been tabbed out. It's our intention to tab out pretty much all the songs we play, so you should have some annoying, ridiculous chords for your fingers to get used to upcoming.

Happy July to all!
